Wanderlust Wednesday: The Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands are made up of 18 volcanic islands located between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean. Made up of incredible mountains and valleys, and home to thousands of birds, the Faroe Islands have an unrivalled natural beauty.

The capital city of Torshavn has a population of almost 30,000 and is the largest city on the Faroe Islands. Here you’ll find beautiful eighteenth-century churches, museums, the old town and rows of cheerful coloured houses.

Despite the fact that the islands are quite remote, once you’re there it’s actually quite easy to get around thanks to the archipelago’s great transport infrastructure.
