Up close with the new HUAWEI P30 Pro

I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of the highly anticipated new HUAWEI phone range. Not alone that, it was held in Paris of all places. I’m not a huge phone enthusiast but I do love capturing memories, so I appreciate good image quality. And that’s exactly the philosophy behind the new HUAWEI P30 series, which aims to rewrite the rules photography .

The official launch was held last week in the Convention Centre in Paris with an array of journalists, social media influencers and bloggers from all over the world attending. The CEO of the company Richard Yu hosted the event revealing for the first time the features of the new phone. The piece of technology has four cameras placed on the back of the phone, and its different elements was demonstrated to the audience. The zoom mode on the new HUAWEI stood out for me in particular with the SuperSpectrum Sensor having a 50x digital zoom, meaning nothing is too far away for you to take a picture of. You can even change the camera mode to an ultra-wide lens so that you can fit everything in one shot, great for group photos!

The colour reveals also went down a treat with the announcement that the new phone will come in Breathing Crystal, Pearl White, Amber Sunrise ( a crowd favourite), Aurora and Black. Later on the team of HUAWEI brought us for a photography tour around Paris at night and it was hard not to be impressed by the night mode on the P30 Pro. Instead of having to use an unflattering flash to make the image visible in the dark, the night mode captures forty percent more light than the regular smartphone, meaning the pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe came out beautiful and illuminating.
